delete the new 'game' folder and rename the old one back to 'game'.
PSS If you need to 'verify files' for FF14, try just renaming the 'game' folder in '\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn', do the usual Steam verify but stop it once it creates the 'game' folder. You'll lose up to 13GB worth of downloading! Do complain to SE about them not putting a 'verify files' feature on their launcher! Steam provides the basic setup (and it's not always up to date), enough to launch the game and have it start patching from the game's servers. Verify game cache is the last resort for a MMO on Steam. Since it uses Internet Explorer in the launcher, sometimes it can be a problem with IE too. The download was slow but it was the only solution that didnt give me errors. It had to do a similar 1.8 Gig download so i could play OB.doesnt matter, it is running pretty fast and like was said, better to check and be safe than be sorry come Saturday morning.
